My approach and services

'To provide meaningful architecture is not to parody history, but to articulate it' – Daniel Libeskind

My approach is to create simple practical spaces that are well designed, examples of workmanship and strongly routed in the surrounding context.

I do not believe in a tick box approach to sustainable design, but share the practical Passivhaus philosophy of ‘fabric first’, ensuring the buildings fabric is designed and built to improve energy efficiency in buildings.

By the very nature of my work every project is different; there is no standard house design or detail to suit everyone’s taste, nor a standard repair to a historic building without first understanding the cause of the defect. However, my personal approach to each project ensures every client is involved along the way.

Whether your project is for a small extension, a retrofit, conversion or a new house, large or small I offer a personal service tailored to your individual needs, which can include;

  • Site analysis
  • Carrying out measured surveys
  • Bespoke architectural design services
  • Production of technical drawings, schedules of works and specifications
  • Preparation of Design and Access Statements
  • Preparation of Heritage Statements
  • Planning and Building Regulation Applications
  • Assistance in selecting the right contractor and building contract
  • Contract administration

In close collaboration, I'm able to compliment my services by recommending like minded professionals I regularly work with for the following services;

  • Topographical land surveys
  • Protected species surveys
  • Tree surveys and reports
  • Production of 3D modelling
  • Compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
  • Structural engineering services
  • Quantity surveying and cost control
